Petrochemical wastewater and its characteristics
Petrochemical wastewater:
Petrochemical wastewater includes water used in oil extraction process and wastewater from petroleum refining and petrochemical processes with complicated element and wide varieties. In general, petrochemical wastewater is divided into four categories: petroleum refining wastewater, petrochemical wastewater, chemical fiber industrial wastewater and fertilizer industrial wastewater.
The characteristics of petroleum refining wastewater:
1. The concentration organic matter is high with large volume wastewater and complicated element. The wastewater generated in the production process contains in addition to oil, sulfur, phenol, COD, ammonia nitrogen, SS, acid, alkali, salt etc. and various organic substances and organic chemistry, such as ethers, ketones, aldehydes, hydrocarbons, organic acids, oils and inorganic matter.
2. The dispose of wastewater is of great difficulty, because it contains a large amount of suspended organic matter that is degradation-resistant.

Conventional processes and limitations
Conventional process
Limitations of conventional processes
The COD of the sewage is high and the sewage foam generated by the biochemical aerobic pool is operated.
Other process
Oil-air-floating-biochemical-deep processing BAF-recycling process:
Standard discharge treatment of petrochemical wastewater
Deep reuse processing:
Process characteristics
1. High processing load. Hydraulic load and volume load are significantly higher than traditional processes;
2. Covering small area with little infrastructure. There is no secondary sedimentation tank after BAF, which can save the land occupation and investment of the secondary sedimentation tank;
3. Low operating costs;
4. Strong impact load resistance with low temperature resistance;
5. Easy to hang film and start fast;
6. Don’t produce odor with high environmental quality.
